The late senior Elder Jerry Smallwood

Elder Jerry L. Smallwood was born in Washington, D.C., and raised in the Washington, D.C., metropolitan area with six siblings. As a young teenager, he came to know God and proclaimed God as his Lord and Savior. He was baptized and confirmed in the Catholic faith as a young man and served as an Elder and Eucharistic Minister. He later became affiliated with the Baptist faith and ultimately found the non-denominational evangelical environment more suited to the effective use of his God-given talents.

Elder Smallwood completed his formal education through studies at Clark College in Atlanta, Georgia, Howard University in Washington, D.C., and George Mason University in Fairfax, Virginia. He enjoyed a successful career in the corporate sector directing the Real Estate, Facility Management, and Sales and Marketing Operations of several corporations. He owned and operated a very successful direct sales organization and was a small business developer and owner. He employed his God-given business and entrepreneurial skills to the benefit of the calling God has placed on the Sisters of The Son Ministries.

Elder Smallwood was called by God to encourage, edify and minister to the unique needs of men, particularly those who are married. He co-founded the Sisters of The Son Ministries along with Apostle Tonya Jackson Smallwood in 1997 and served as the Executive Director of the Sisters of The Son Foundation.

Elder Smallwood was married to Apostle Tonya Smallwood for 28 years and the father of two adult sons, Eddie and Justin.

Elder Jerry L. Smallwood went home to glory on March 5, 2017. He was greatly loved and his presence will be forever missed.
